Your Beauty Appointment Timeline

Planning your beauty appointments around each other can make your event morning so much easier.

Here’s the order I recommend for the best results:

🤎 Tan — 1–2 days before

Have your tan done at least 30 - 48  hours before your makeup appointment where possible. This gives your tan time to develop, settle and wash off any excess product before your makeup is applied.

As a spray tan technician I always advise my clients to get their spray tan 2 days before the event so they have a chance to have a shower to rinse off the guide colour and then a normal shower on the morning of the event, this helps ensure all the guide colour is completely rinsed and also helps reduce transfer massively.

Make sure you exfoliate and moisturise before applying your tan, particularly around dry areas such as elbows, knees, hands and feet

✨ Brows — 2–5 days before

Whether you wax, thread, tint or tweeze, give your brows a few days to settle before your makeup appointment. This allows any redness or sensitivity to disappear and avoids freshly treated skin around the eye area. If you tint the brows too close to your spray tan it can cause the tint and tan to react leaving you with orange or green brows!

I wouldn't recommend trying a new brow shape immediately before an important event, keep your usual routine!

💇‍♀️ Hair — Before makeup

If you're having your hair professionally styled, hair should usually be done before makeup. This means your makeup stays fresh and you don't risk getting hairspray, heat or styling products onto your finished makeup.

If you're having your hair done after your makeup, let your hairstylist know so they can take extra care around your face.

💄 Makeup — Last

Once your skin, tan, brows and hair are all prepared, it's time for your makeup. Arriving with clean, moisturised and well-prepared skin gives your makeup artist the perfect canvas to work with. Then all you have to do is get dressed and you`re ready for the day!

A little planning makes a big difference. Book your beauty appointments in the right order and you can enjoy a much more relaxed getting-ready experience, with nothing left to worry about except enjoying your event. 🤍
